1750 'Josefowicz' Bergonzi to Go Under the Hammer

International violin soloist Leila Josefowicz has announced the upcoming sale of her prized 1750 Michele Angelo Bergonzi instrument
The violin, to be auctioned by Ingles & Hayday at Sotheby's on October 29th, has been the 36 year old virtuoso's principal performance instrument since 2001 – and has been used for the premiere of a number of important new works - including concerti by Thomas Adès, John Adams, Oliver Knussen, Steven Mackey, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Colin Matthews
The instrument is expected to sell for between $USD 150,000-250,000
