1st Candidate Named in New York Philharmonic Concertmaster Successor Search

American violinist Erin Keefe has today been announced as one of several candidates being considered for the pending New York Philharmonic Concertmaster position

Whilst details of the search and the auditions procedures remain confidential, an Orchestra spokesperson has confirmed Ms Keefe is one of several candidates in final consideration

A graduate of The Julliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music, and current Concertmaster of the locked-out Minnesota Orchestra, Ms Keefe will serve as Guest Concertmaster at concerts with the Philharmonic this coming Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings

The Philharmonic hosted audition last week for a successor for its long-serving Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow, who will step down at the conclusion of this season
