2 VC Artists Awarded 2017 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Awards
VC Artists Paul Huang and the Calidore Quartet have today been announced as recipients of 2017 Lincoln Center Awards for Emerging Artists
VC Artists, violinist Paul Huang and the Calidore String Quartet have today been announced as two of twelve recipients of the prestigious 2017 Lincoln Center Awards for Emerging Artists.
The annual prizes honour outstanding artistry and serve to acknowledge the promising future of selected performers within the 11 resident organizations of the Lincoln Center.
Paul was honored for his work with The Juilliard School - and the Calidore Quartet for their association with the Chamber Music Society.
"It is an incredible honour to be recognized by both Lincoln Center and by The Juilliard School for what I do - and for what I love so deeply ... " Paul has told The Violin Channel.
“It is an honor to receive Lincoln Center’s Emerging Artist Award and to have been selected for this honor by the Chamber Music Society ... " the Calidore Quartet have told The Violin Channel.
"... CMS has profoundly enhanced our career and is our musical family .... we are deeply indebted to the CMS artists and staff for their support and belief in our artistic vision and look forward to our continuing collaboration with CMS in the coming months and seasons ...” they have said.
All 2017 recipients will receive a cash bursary of US $7500 plus a number of Lincoln Center performance opportunities.
This year’s other recipients included New York Philharmonic Concertmaster Frank Huang, soprano Kiera Duggy, Metropolitan Opera baritone Yunpeng Wang and jazz saxophonist Julian Lee.
Previous Emerging Artist recipients include VC Artists Augustin Hadelich and The Dover Quartet.
