The 3 Finalists have been announced at the 2019 Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition - including 18-year-old VC Young Artist Johan Dalene
The 3 Finalists have just minutes ago been announced at the 2019 Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition, in Odense, Denmark - including 18-year-old VC Young Artist Johan Dalene.
The 2019 Finalists are:
- 18-year-old VC Young Artist Johan Dalene from Sweden
- 22-year-old Anna Agafia Egholm from Denmark
- 21-year-old Marie-Astrid Hulot from France
Open to international violinists 29 years and younger, the 1st prize winner will receive €12,000 (USD $14,000), a recording with the Orchid Classics label – plus at least 10 important orchestral and festival performance opportunities.
For the Final round, each candidate will present a major Romantic or 20th Century Violin Concerto - in addition to a performance of the Carl Nielsen Violin Concerto.
The 2019 jury comprises: Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider (Competition President), Eugen Tichindeleanu, Albena Danailova, Sergey Khachatryan, Nurit Bar-josef, Sally Beamish, Ingrid Fliter, Kathryn Enticott and Tobias Niederschlag.
Previous prize winners include: Kathleen Winkler, Joji Hattori, Nikolaj Znaider, Jennifer Koh, Pekka Kuusisto, Adele Anthony, Hrachya Avanesyan – and VC Artists Josef Spacek, Ji Won Song and Luke Hsu.
