Apple Inc. to Launch Apple Music Classical App
Specifically designed for classical music, Apple’s new standalone app will include over 5 million tracks, plus the experience of immersive spatial audio
Apple Music Classical will feature hundreds of curated playlists, composer biographies, discussion guides for certain pieces, and thousands of exclusive albums, from new releases to old favorites.
Collaborating with many acclaimed music institutions and classical musicians around the world, Apple Music Classical has worked to offer complete metadata to ensure accurate displays of what work and which artist is playing.
Additionally, a fully optimized search feature enables instant searches of works by composer, title, conductor, or even catalog number. The new app also involves Apple Music’s lossless audio and immersive sound — powered by spatial audio technology with Dolby Atmos.
Accompanying the catalog are exclusive high-resolution digital portraits of many of the greatest composers, with more to come. Specially commissioned by diverse artists, the portraits are based on historical research — with their color palettes and artistic references derived from the relevant era of the composer. The portraits below feature Chopin, Bach, and Beethoven.
