Applications are now open for the inaugural 2020 Vivac-e Virtual Music Festival's Violin/Viola and Cello programs – set to be held virtually from the 27th of July to the 22nd of August.
Hosted by the Vivace Music Foundation, in Matera, Italy, the festival is open to international violinists, violists, cellists and pianists.
The Violin/Viola sessions will be held from the 27th of July to the 4th of August. Applications to be received by the 25th of June, 2020.
The Cello sessions will be held from the 12th to the 22nd of August. Applications to be received by the 10th of July, 2020.
The 2020 violin & viola faculty comprises: Misha Amory, Paul Biss, Catherine Cho, Miriam Fried, Ara Gregorian, Kim Kashkashian, Ani Kavafian, Ida Kavafian, Hye-Jin Kim, Axel Strauss and Steven Tenenbom.
The 2020 cello faculty comprises: Natasha Brofsky, Steven Doane, Rosemary Elliot, Osvaldo Golijov, Clive Greensmith, Paul Katz, Michael Kannen, Yeesum Kim, Christine Lamprea, Julia Lichten, Daniel McDonough, Hannah Roberts, Astrid Schween, Alisa Weilerstein, Nathaniel Yaffe and David Ying.
Each participant will receive a minimum of 4 masterclasses and access to the festival's concerts, courses, discussions and interviews - with the option to study with multiple faculty members.
The festival will provide all participants with an external microphone, plus a session with a recording engineer, to help create the best possible learning experience from home.
In addition to being able to participate as an active student, people may also register as an auditor where they can observe the courses.
