Veteran artist manager Douglas Sheldon has announced his retirement from Columbia Artists New York - after 53 years
It has been announced today that veteran artist manager Douglas Sheldon has retired from Columbia Artists New York, after 53 years - effective immediately.
Mr Sheldon, 77, joined the artist management agency in 1966 - and has during his venerable career managed countless superstar artists - including Valery Gergiev, Leonard Slatkin, Jaap van Zweden, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Vladimir Spivakov, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Vadim Repin, Denis Matsuev, Khatia Buniatishvili and the Beaux Arts Trio.
"Doug Sheldon has been an esteemed colleague and friend for decades ..." Columbia Artists President and CEO Tim Fox has today said.
"He's been with Columbia Artists for over fifty years and has decided to resign for personal reasons ... we are grateful for his service and wish him well," he has said.
