“Radiant Stage Energy and Robust Alto Sound”

- The Violin Channel

A graduate of The Juilliard School and New England Conservatory, where he was a student of Hsin-Yun Huang, Dimitri Murrath, and Samuel Rhodes, Jordan is a former major prize winner at the Sphinx Competition and the Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition, as well as a former recipient of a Sphinx MPower Artist Grant and Samuel Sanders Tel Aviv Museum Prize.

Recent recital debuts include a performance at London's Wigmore Hall, New York's Merkin Concert Hall, Bruno Walter Auditorium and Alice Tully Hall, Boston's Jordan Hall and Baltimore’s Shriver Hall, and chamber music tours with the Musicians from Marlboro and CAG on Tour.

Who would you nominate to have their own reality tv show?
Definitely my good friend, VC Young Artist Francisco Fullana! Always a blast with great adventures collaborating with him, and having fun too.
What is something that has sparked joy for you in the past year?
Spending quality time with my wife and my family, and returning to in-person concerts the second half of the year! I remember being so unbelievably grateful to share music with an actual in-person audience, something that we hadn't been able to do for over a year.
What are some challenges you have faced during your study of classical music?
Distinguishing individuality and excellence from perfection, finding my 'why' - why I do what I do beyond just playing something very well, facing criticisms, and continuing to have a reason to carve a path for myself even without much BIPOC representation in this industry at that time.
Which industry figure inspires you most? Why?
I would definitely say Eleanor Alberga - I think she's an incredible force of nature with a drive and energy and a unique musical language, and to me, represents a huge demographic of the Caribbean population and what we can bring to the table in Classical music.
5 things you love about yourself:
I love laughing (you'll see/hear it for sure most of the time), I'm quite meticulous and detailed when it comes to things I really care about, I'm pretty easygoing (hope so!) and enjoy the simple pleasures in life, I actually do enjoy traveling (very useful in this industry), and I like to have a good time, especially after concerts.
