Stella made her debut with the New York Philharmonic this past February in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

A graduate of Harvard University, the New England Conservatory, The Juilliard School, and the Kronberg Academy, Stella is a former prize winner at the Tibor Varga and Menuhin International Violin Competitions - and was awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition, in Brussels. She was also honored as a recipient of a 2020 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Prize.
Stella's recent performances include solo appearances with the Belgian National Orchestra, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic, Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Orquestra Filarmónica de Medellín, London Chamber Orchestra, and Welsh National Symphony Orchestra. Her teachers and mentors include Li Lin, Mihaela Martin, Donald Weilerstein, Itzhak Perlman, Catherine Cho, and Miriam Fried.

I really enjoy traveling all over
What are some changes you would like to see in the world?
More empathy. This is idealistic, but, that everyone in the world have the means to get a high quality education in the craft of their choice
What are some changes you feel are needed in the classical music industry?
I’ve been thinking about how I can make an impact in making sure a wide variety of classical music speaks to the next generation. One clear point is better music education, I’m thinking specifically of the US public schooling system. A friend and I recently did a collaboration with a k-pop band and we were surprised when they all knew conducting patterns and how to read music- they had learned this in school and were in turn surprised that this wasn’t something people learned in basic elementary schooling in the US. Also, we underestimate the ability of young people to absorb music we deem “difficult to understand”, etc. I think people deserve more credit than that, and we shouldn’t stick to the same circus tricks to attract attention. I also think that it would be great for young musicians to have a bit more guidance re: forging your own path in an industry where the paths are many and not so obvious. Again something to be incorporated into education… not sure how yet!
