BREAKING | New York's 2019 Avery Fisher Career Grant Recipients Announced
The 2019 recipients of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Development Grants have today been announced

- Piano Duo, Christina and Michelle Naughton
- Pianist, Henry Kramer
Administered by the Avery Fisher Artist Program, each grant winner will receive USD $25,000 to assist with career development.
“Receiving such a prestigious award as the Avery Fisher Career Grant is an incredible honor for me ….” Angelo Xiang has told The Violin Channel.
“I grew up listening to the CDs of artists such as André Watts, Gil Shaham, and Joshua Bell, who have won this award in the past ... and I’m so inspired to walk in the footsteps of those great artists and share my voice with more audience around the world,” the 28-year-old Chinese-born virtuoso has said.
“JACK is so honored to be receiving an Avery Fisher Career Grant alongside these incredible artists ... and we’ll be using the funds to directly support our new commissioning effort called the Fulcrum Project,” violist John Richards of the JACK Quartet has told The Violin Channel.
Since 1976, more than 125 talented young musicians have been recognized with Avery Fisher Career Grant Awards – including Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Joshua Bell, Sarah Chang, Leila Josefowicz and Alisa Weilerstein – and VC Artists Dover Quartet, Stephen Waarts, Chad Hoopes, Bella Hristova, Stefan Jackiw, Augustin Hadelich, Tessa Lark, Alexi Kenney, Benjamin Beilman, Itamar Zorman, Simone Porter, Francisco Fullana and Paul Huang.
