Berlin Philharmonic's Family Concert to Support United Nations Refugee Agency

To be held on September 19, the concert will feature Stravinsky's Firebird with chief conductor Kirill Petrenko

The Berlin Philharmonic will hold a concert to help raise funds for the Afghan refugee crisis. Over 82.4 million people have fled Afghanistan following the withdrawal of NATO troops and the subsequent fall of Kabul, the nation's capital.

To help aid the refugee efforts, the orchestra will donate a portion of the concert's ticket revenue to the UN Refugee Aid, the national partner of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR).

Aimed at children and families, the concert will feature Igor Stravinsky's "Firebird," accompanied by a dance element choreographed by Sara Ezzell, and a drawing element provided by Reinhard Kleist.

Some COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place at the event. Attendees must either be vaccinated or have been recently tested, and masks must be worn throughout.

For audience members under the age of 18, tickets cost only 10 Euros. You can purchase tickets, here.
