The opening round candidates have today been announced for the 2020 Cecil Aronowitz International Viola Competition – to be held in Birmingham, England from the 14th to 20th of November, 2020.

Open to international violists 21 years of age and younger, the 1st prize winner will receive £5000, a concerto recording on EM Records with the BBC Concert Orchestra, a recital performance at the English Music Festival – plus a fine viola bow valued at £5000 courtesy Bishop Instruments & Bows.
The 2020 jury will comprise: Louise Lansdown (Chair), Thomas Riebl, Sheng Li, Vicci Wardman and Matthew Jones.
