24-year-old French cellist Aurélien Pascal is building an international reputation as one of the new generation’s most outstanding young string soloists

24-year-old French cellist Aurélien Pascal is building an international reputation as one of the new generation’s most outstanding young string soloists.

A graduate of the Paris Conservatory where he studied with Philippe Müller, and current student of Gary Hoffman and Frans Helmerson and the Kronberg Academy, Aurélien is a former major prize winner in the Paulo, Emanuel Feuermann and Queen Elisabeth International Cello Competitions.

His recent solo engagements include performances with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de Metz, Orchestre de Bretagne, Orchestre de Douai-Hauts de France, Köln Kaamerorchester, Orchester Royal de Wallonie and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.

As a chamber musician he has collaborated with names such as Christian Tetzlaff, Svetlin Roussev, Augustin Dumay and András Schiff.

Aurélien currently performs on a 1850 Charles-Adolphe Gand cello.
