American violinist John Ferrell has passed away, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease - aged 90.

He served as the Concermaster of the Tucson Symphony from 1974 to 1997 - and held a long term teaching position at the University of Arizona.

Our condolences are with his family, friends, colleagues and students.
