Juilliard Appoints New Vice President of Communications and Marketing

Mary Caraccioli, who has previously been chief communications officer at Lincoln Center, will step into the role in mid-July

The Juilliard School recently announced that Mary Caraccioli will serve as its new Vice President of Communications and Marketing. She will begin in mid-July and succeed Rosalie Contreras, who has led the department for the past five years.

Caraccioli comes to the post from a six-year stint as chief communications and engagement officer at the Central Park Conservancy. She has also previously served as chief communications officer at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Prior to this, Caraccioli was a reporter, broadcast anchor, and news executive across leading media platforms.

As well as being responsible for all of Juilliard's internal and external communications, marketing, digital, editorial, and creative services functions, Caraccioli will also oversee campaign development for nearly 800 annual performances and recitals — as well as admissions recruitment, continuing education, and other institution-wide initiatives.

"I am thrilled to join the Juilliard team and support the students, faculty, and administration at a time when the performing arts are more essential than ever," Caraccioli said. "Having grown up with the arts at the heart of my household, I deeply understand their power to foster humanity and connection."

"President Woetzel’s dedication to expanding access to the arts and maintaining Juilliard's standard of excellence is essential to keeping music, dance, and theater central in our lives, and I look forward to furthering this mission in my new role."

"I’m looking forward to working with Mary as she assumes her new role at this pivotal time in Juilliard’s history," said Juilliard’s president, Damian Woetzel. "As we develop the change-making artists of the future, we welcome Mary’s expertise in storytelling, marketing, and media to help us amplify the creativity and excellence that is at the core of everything we do. And as we work to match the excellence of our education with ever more affordability, that connectivity will be crucial."
