Indianapolis Symphony Announces New Concertmaster

The Indianapolis Symphony has announced the appointment of American violinist Kevin Lin as its new Concertmaster

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, in Indianapolis, United States has this week announced the appointment of American violinist Kevin Lin as its new Concertmaster - effective from the commencement of the 2020-2021 season.

A graduate of the Colburn School and the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Robert Lipsett and Aaron Rosand, Kevin currently serves as Co-Leader of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

He has previously served as Guest Concertmaster with the Pittsburgh, Houston and Cincinnati Symphonies.

“I’m extremely excited and honored to join the Indianapolis Symphony ... it’s been a pleasure getting to know the musicians and the community of the ISO ... I look forward to many memorable years of music making,” the 26-year-old former 1st prize winner at the Irving Klein International String Competition has said.

"I am very happy for the ISO ... We have seen many great violinists over the past two seasons in this search, but from Kevin’s first visit to Indianapolis, I was impressed by his talent and musicianship ... he will be a great leader for this wonderful orchestra and I’m delighted that he has accepted the position,” Indianapolis Symphony Music Director, Krzysztof Urbański has this week said.
