Kristin Lee Joins Faculty at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music
Lee's appointment as Assistant Professor of Violin will commence on August 15, 2021
A protege of Dorothy DeLay, Catherine Cho, and Itzhak Perlman, Lee was a recipient of the 2015 Avery Fischer Career Grant and a top prizewinner of the 2012 Naumberg Competition.
Previously, Lee has soloed with orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic — and performed on renowned stages including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center.
"I am thrilled to announce my appointment to the faculty of University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music as Assistant Professor of Violin starting this fall," said Lee in a post on Facebook. "Recognizing the extraordinary history of violin pedagogy at CCM, which includes Eugène Ysaÿe and my teacher, Dorothy DeLay, I take this opportunity with great honor and look forward to nurturing the violinists of our future generation."
Lee's appointment was announced by Stanley E. Romanstein, Dean of the UC College-Conservatory of Music.
"Kristin Lee will be an outstanding addition to our faculty," Romanstein said in a statement. "Her artistry and expertise will help CCM continue to prepare future generations of students for positions on the world stage. I want to recognize the excellent work of our search committee chaired by James Bunte, which included faculty members Won-Bin Yim, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Mark Gibson, Stefani Matsuo, and Sasha Kazovsky, along with artist diploma student Jordan Curry."
