La Scala Suspends Performance Following Positive COVID-19 Case

Following the recent reopening of the theatre, La Scala once again canceled performances after a cast member tested positive for the coronavirus

Performances of the opera L’italiana in Algeri have been temporarily suspended after a cast member tested positive on May 23. The positive case came as a part of a routine checkup for all artists involved in the production.

The performance was originally scheduled to take place on May 25.

A new performance date will be announced later, and audience members who cannot attend on the new date will be issued a refund.

Earlier this month, La Scala announced the reopening of its theatres for up to 500 audience members for the first time in six months.
