London Symphony Orchestra Violinist Awarded OBE Queen’s Honour

London Symphony Orchestra sub-leader, violinist Lennox Mackenzie has been awarded an OBE for his services to music

It has been announced that London Symphony Orchestra sub-leader, violinist Lennox Mackenzie has been awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) - for his services to music.

Mr Mackenzie joined the LSO violin section, as a Principal player, in 1980 and has served as a Board member and chairman for 19 years.

He was additionally awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Music in 2015 for his services to music.

Awarded annually, an OBE is a Queen’s honour presented in recognition of contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations and public service.
