Happy Birthday, VC Artist Nathan Meltzer!

Today is American violinist, VC Artist Nathan Meltzer‘s 23rd birthday!

Nathan is the winner of the 2023 Concert Artist Guild Competition and a major prize recipient of the 2022 Sibelius and Singapore International Violin Competitions. He is also the youngest violinist to have won the Windsor Festival Competition in 2017.

Based in New York City, Nathan is building a dynamic career as a soloist and chamber musician, with a deep passion for both standard and contemporary repertoire.

Nathan has performed as a soloist with numerous major orchestras, including the Philharmonia Orchestra, Orchestre National d'Île-de-France, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic, and the Aalborg, Charlotte, Concepción, Evansville, Indianapolis, Medellín, Montréal, and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestras, among others. His performances have spanned Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

As a chamber musician, Nathan has appeared in series such as Parlance Chamber Concerts, Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, Kallos Chamber Music Series, the Terezin Music Foundation, Project Music Heals Us, Heidelberger Frühling, and Midori’s Partners in Performance.

He has also participated in festivals including ChamberFest Cleveland, Krzyżowa Music, Moritzburg Festival, Ravinia Festival, Perlman Music Program, and Verbier Festival Academy.

He is the Artistic Director of the Green Room Ensemble, an organization dedicated to new music and historically unexplored works by composers from diverse backgrounds.

A Juilliard graduate and student of Li Lin and Itzhak Perlman, Nathan plays a Storioni violin generously loaned from the Rin Collection.
