Notos Piano Quartet Awarded 1st Prize at Harbin’s Schoenfeld Chamber Music Comp
The Notos Piano Quartet have been awarded 1st prize at the 2016 Alice & Eleonore Schoenfeld International Chamber Music Competition
HARBIN - The German-based Notos Piano Quartet have today been awarded 1st prize at the 2016 Alice & Eleonore Schoenfeld International Chamber Music Competition, in Harbin, China.
Comprising violinist Sindri Lederer, violist Andrea Burger, cellist Philip Graham and pianist Antonia Köster, the ensemble will receive US $20,000.
The Notos Quartet are former 1st prize recipients of the 'London Parkhouse Award' and the Charles-Hennen International Chamber Music Competition.
2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to the Friction String Quartet from the United States and the YAS String Quartet from the United States.
4th, 5th and 6th prizes were awarded to the Los Angeles Ensemble Piano Quartet, the Kanon Piano Trio from Italy and the Altius String Quartet from the United States.
Special Awards for Excellence were awarded to the Cincinnatus String Quartet from the United States, the Himalaya String Quartet from China, the Moa String Quartet from Germany and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory Piano Trio from Russia.
