BOSKER's New Electronic Classical Album, "Atmosphere"

The album features a unique instrumentation of instruments such as the electric violin, a Fender Rhodes piano, and a bass clarinet

Composed and produced by Adrian Hollay, BOSKER's New Album, Atmosphere, presents an atmospheric album that crosses between electronic and classical music.

The instrumentation includes an Electric Spur violin played by Sarah Curro, Fender Rhodes piano and synthesizers played by Adrian Hollay, and a bass clarinet played by Andrew Uren. The rare instrumentation presents a futuristic soundscape for chamber music through the use of electric instruments and modern sound design.

Atmosphere was inspired by minimalism and is performed live without any loops. The album invites listeners to daydream, rest, and reset through its lush and melodic music.

“Atmosphere…is some of the most atmospheric and … virtuosic music I've ever played," Sarah Curro said.

Award-winning German producer and composer Adrian Hollay's recordings have been released on music labels Naxos and Atoll and have been broadcast on public radio stations in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and across Europe. He regularly works for New Zealand’s foremost theatre company, the Auckland Theatre Company, and receives commissions to write music for theatre, drama, and animated films.

A member of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Australian violinist Sarah Curro has commissioned dozens of new compositions for her own violin concert series. The Spur violin, played on Atmosphere by Sarah, is designed and made by master luthier Paul Davies. A prototype of a new kind of electric violin, the instrument while modern in sound, retains the beautiful tones associated with the traditional instrument.

Auckland bass clarinetist Andrew Uren is a keen performer of all styles and genres of music and dedicates himself tirelessly to promoting the bass clarinet and New Zealand music. He is a founding member of New Zealand’s contemporary ensemble 175 East. Uren is featured in the track Stargazing.
