Centaur Records has announced the release of Argentinian-born violinist Tomás Cotik's new album: 'Bach Solo Sonatas and Partitas'.

The disc features the complete six Solo Violin Sonatas and Partitas by Johann Sebastian Bach.

"As we celebrate the 300th anniversary of Bach’s Solo Violin Sonatas and Partitas in 2020, I wanted to delve deep into the exploration of these transcendental works - their architecture, historical sources of information, and my own confrontation with the constantly evolving traditions and fashions in performance ... " Tomas has this week told the Violin Channel. 

"A unique and distinctive aspect of my interpretation was to record the album with a Baroque bow while still using a 'modern violin' at modern standard pitch ... reconciling my appreciation of different performance styles ..." he has said.

"A lifetime of attention, research, and appreciation has been condensed into my actual recording to bring this music to life - and I do hope it will speak for itself."
