Prizes Awarded at Prague’s Oskar Nedbal Viola Competition

21-year-old Nicholas Algot Swensen from Denmark was awarded 1st prize at the 2020 Oskar Nedbal International Viola Competition in Prague, Czech Republic

A student of Lars Anders Tomter at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and Barbara Westphal at the Lübeck College of Music. He will receive $1200 USD as well as a bow by Luboš Odlas.

2nd prize was awarded to Sào Soulez Lariviere from France/Netherlands. No 3rd prize was awarded this year.

The 2020 jury comprised: Tim Frederiksen (Chairman), Stephanie Bear, Jan Pěruška, Piotr Reichert, Kristina Fialová and Karel Untermüller.
