Rockport Music Seeking New President & CEO

The successful candidate will preside over the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, as well as year-round programming that covers classical, jazz, folk, pop, and world music

Rockport Music, which is based in Massachusetts and best known for the annual Rockport Chamber Music Festival, is seeking a new President & CEO.

In addition to the 20 performances across five weeks during its summer festival, Rockport Music also has a robust presenting series throughout the year that includes classical, jazz, folk, pop, and world music, as well as a film series and HD broadcasts of performances from elsewhere. It serves almost 30,000 visitors annually.

The President & CEO is responsible for approximately 18 full-time staff and oversees the organization's annual revenue of approximately $4.5 million. Their primary role is to enhance Rockport Music’s artistic and operational vision by executing the strategic plan. This includes building the revenues and brand, with a strong focus both on the international and local markets.

The President & CEO works alongside the Artistic Director — who is responsible for the festival's programming and artistic direction — in a co-equal reporting relationship with the board of trustees.

Applicants for the position should have several years of progressive senior leadership experience and proven success in arts programming, presenting, nonprofit management, business, or a related field. Financial and operational acumen with demonstrated success in fundraising and earned revenue enhancement is also a requirement.

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $200,000 and $240,000, with several benefits.
