Semifinalists Announced for Cedille Records' Emerging Artist Competition
Six semifinalists will compete on November 20, 2021, for a chance to record on the Chicago-based label
Established in 1989, the Grammy Award-winning Cedille Records showcases and promotes classical artists in and from the Chicago area. In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the label launched an inaugural competition open to both soloists and ensembles.
The Cedille Records Emerging Artist Competition semifinalists are:

The winner will record a Cedille Records album for release in Fall 2022 and join a roster of artists including Jennifer Koh, Wendy Warner, Anthony McGill, Eighth Blackbird, and the Pacifica and Dover String Quartets.
The jury for both the semifinal and final will comprise James Ginsburg, Rachel Barton Pine, Henry Fogel, Josephine Lee, George Preston, Vladimir Kulenovic, and David McGill.
The semifinal will be live-streamed on Cedille’s website on November 20, 2021, at 11 AM CST. The final round — with up to four finalists — will be broadcast on Chicago FM radio station, WFMT. In-person attendance for the finals is free and open to the public on November 21, 2021, at 1 PM CST at the Spertus Institute. You can reserve a seat, here.
