It has been announced today that 17 year old British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, winner of the 2016 'BBC Young Musician of the Year' accolade, has signed a major recording deal with Decca Classics.
‘Sheku is an astonishingly gifted young musician with incredible energy and a burning passion for his music …, "Decca Classics Managing Director Dr Alexander Buhr has said.
"I can’t wait to see him grow and develop in the coming years and we will be by his side every step of the way ...’ he has said.

In September of this year, Warner Classics announced the signing of 15 year old Dutch violinist Noa Wildschut to an exclusive CD recording contract.
Just weeks prior it was announced that 15 year old VC Rising Star Daniel Lozakovich and 21 year old VC Young Artist Yu-Chien Benny Tseng had joined the Deutsche Grammophon stable – for exclusive long-term contracts.
