SOUND POST SERIES 2 | Masumi Per Rostad Talks Instruments with Vadim Gluzman

Let's invite ourselves into this top violin soloist's case to see what he plays...

Grammy Award-winning, Japanese-Norwegian violist Masumi Per Rostad is an active performer and professor of viola and chamber music at the Eastman School of Music. As a former member of the Pacifica Quartet for almost two decades, he also founded DoCha, a chamber music festival in Champaign, Illinois.

Amidst his busy schedule, Masumi sits down with his friends and colleagues to discuss the ins and outs of their instruments in his Sound Post series.

After a successful Series 1 in 2020, The Violin Channel is pleased to present Series 2 of Sound Post, starting off with violinist Vadim Gluzman.

Join us in Chicago at Gluzman's very own North Shore Chamber Music Festival. He tells us the story of how he was introduced to and what it is like to play Leopold Auer's Stradivarius violin and Henryk Szeryng's Peccatte bow!

On November 17 at 5 PM ET, Vadim Gluzman and pianist Janice Carissa will make their VC Vanguard Concerts debut — performing an assortment of works by Beethoven, Auerbach, and Bartók.
