Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition 2023 Announces Finalists

The competition’s piano trio edition will see three groups perform in the final round on September 30, 2023

Founded in 2000, Norway’s Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition (TICC) is held biennially, alternating between string quartet and piano trio editions for advanced and emerging artists worldwide.

Selected from an initial pool of nine participants for the 2023 edition, Trio Incendio, Trio Tokava, and Rilian Trio will compete in the TICC final on September 30, in Norway’s Free Mason Hall.

The three finalists will compete with piano trios by Beethoven and Schubert.

The first-prize winner will receive €15,000, second place will receive €10,000, and third prize is €5,000. Additionally, the top-prize winner and the winner of the audience prize will receive a number of concert engagements throughout 2024.

The winning ensembles will receive performance engagements, masterclasses, and a print by the renowned Norwegian artist Håvard Homstvedt. A jury special prize will also be awarded.

Chaired by Anthony Marwood, the jury comprises Anja Lechner, Arisa Fujita, Berit Cardas, Christian Ihle Hadland, Daniel Müller-Schott, and Stefan Mendl.
