UK Music Education Charity Announces New Ambassador
The Music Masters organization appointed violinist Benjamin Baker as its newest ambassador
He joins artists such as Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Hyeyoon Park, and Daniel Kidane in the ambassadorial role.
During his time as a Young Classical Artists trust (YCAT) artist, Baker worked closely with Music Masters on various projects as part of the two organizations' partnership.
A graduate of the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal College of Music, Baker is a former prize winner at the Michael Hill Competition in New Zealand. He has performed internationally, with orchestras such as the Philharmonia, Auckland Philharmonia, RTE Concert Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra Simón Bolívar of Venezuela, Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic, Albanian Radio Symphony, Royal Northern Sinfonia, and London Mozart Players.
"I’ve come to know and love Music Masters for their amazing community of young musicians," Baker said. "Their infectious enthusiasm for music, and appetite to always try something new is continually inspiring. I look forward to sharing some of my own experiences and explorations with Music Masters’ musicians, and to support the continuing development of Music Masters’ pathway for young musicians. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to contribute something to their musical journey as a Music Masters Ambassador."
“Artists like Benjamin best demonstrate what it means to be a well-rounded musician — his focus on innovation, his community music-making and his enthusiasm for supporting musicians in their early days is incredibly inspiring," Dafydd Evans, Music Masters Senior Learning Manager, said.
