VC Artist Augustin Hadelich Appointed to Yale School of Music Faculty
The Italian-German violinist will join Connecticut's Yale School of Music this coming fall as a distinguished member of the violin faculty
The position will include teaching four students in addition to running masterclasses for all Yale School of Music violinists and string players.
A graduate of the Istituto Mascagni and The Juilliard School, he is a former first prize winner at the Indianapolis International Violin Competition and recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, Warner Music Prize, and Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship.
In 2016, Hadelich won a Grammy Award in the “Best Classical Instrumental Solo” category for his recording of Dutilleux’s violin concerto L’arbre des songes with Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony.
“I am excited to join the faculty of Yale School of Music this fall and look forward to working with YSM’s talented students,” Mr. Hadelich said. “I hope to pass on to the students what I have learned in my performing career and know that they will, in turn, inspire my own practicing and performances around the world.”
“Mr. Hadelich is one of the most renowned violinists on the world stage today,” School of Music Dean Robert Blocker. “We look forward to welcoming him to the School of Music and the university this fall.”
