Winner of the Michael Hill Arancio Prize, Čepoveckis will perform with pianist Jinhee Park

 

Tune in on November 12, 2022, as Rare Violins of New York and The Michael Hill International Violin Competition will present violinist Jevgēnijs Čepoveckis and pianist Jinhee Park in recital.

The program for the performance includes:

Franz Schubert - Sonatina Op. 137 No. 1

  1. Allegro molto
  2. Andante
  3. Allegro vivace

Fritz Kreisler - Recitativo und Scherzo-Caprice, Op.6

Myroslav Skoryk - Melody

Lyell Cresswell - Chatoyance

Karol Szymanovski - Violin Sonata, Op.9

  1. Allegro moderato
  2. Andantino tranquillo e dolce
  3. Finale. Allegro molto quasi presto

 

 

As the Arancio prizewinner of the 2019 Michael Hill International Violin Competition, Jevgēnijs Čepoveckis plays the ex-Christian Ferras Nicolo Amati violin, Cremona 1645, which is on loan from Rare Violins in Consortium, Artists and Benefactors Collaborative.

Born in 1995 in Riga, Latvia, Jevgēnijs received his first violin lessons at the age of four. A graduate of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, under Prof. Boris Kuschnir, he obtained his Master of Arts degree with distinction in 2022.

A founder of the Oberton String Octet, Jevgēnijs was selected as the Vienna Konzerthaus’s Great Talent young artist in residence

In addition to winning the 3rd Prize at the 2019 Michael Hill International Violin Competition, he also won the XXVI Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition in Fermo, Italy, Oleh Krysa 3rd International Violin Competition in Lviv, Ukraine, and II CullerArts International Violin Competition in Valencia, Spain.
