Today’s masterclass features a special class with pianist and The Juilliard School faculty member Rohan De Silva

We’re coming to you this afternoon from Michigan State University College of Music for the continuation of the Dorothy DeLay MasterClass Series.

Created by violinist Dmitri Berlinsky, the series honors one of the world’s most respected violin teachers — bringing former students and collaborators together to share Ms. DeLay’s techniques, repertoire and reflections on life as an artist.

Today’s stream features a chamber music masterclass hosted by DeLay studio collaborative pianist Rohan De Silva. Upcoming episodes of the series feature violinist Vadim Gluzman, Vadim Repin, and more!

Dorothy DeLay (1917-2002) is remembered as one of the most respected violin pedagogues of the 20th Century. Her students included Itzhak Perlman, Sarah Chang, Midori, Gil Shaham, Nigel Kennedy, Shlomo Mintz, Cho-Liang Lin, Akiko Suwanai, Philippe Quint, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, and more.
