Legendary Soviet violinist and teacher Pyotr Stolyarsky was born on this day in 1871.
As a pedagogue, his impact on music education for children and his dedication to his students was everlasting. "His teaching is something, that the world should be proud of," said Jacques Thibaud.
Mr. Stolyarsky is remembered in history as the founder of "The Odessa School" and "The Soviet Violin School." He was honored as People's Artist of Ukrainian SSR.
