American violinist and pedagogue Aaron Rosand was born on this day in 1927.

A student of Leon Sametini and Efrem Zimbalist, he has served a long-term teaching position at the Curtis Institute of Music – his famed students including Benjamin SchmidAlexander Kerr, Stephanie Jeong and VC Artists Ray ChenRichard Lin, Zeyu Victor Li, Dami KimYu-Chien Benny Tseng and Stephen Waarts.

Mr Rosand passed away in 2019 - aged 92.
