Belgian violinist Arthur Grumiaux was born on this day in 1921

Belgian violinist Arthur Grumiaux was born on this day in 1921.

Dying in 1986, aged just 65, he is remembered as one of the finest violin virtuosi of the 20th Century.

In 1973 Maestro Grumiaux was knighted baron by King Baudouin of Belgium for his services to music - thus sharing the title with Paganini.
