He was one of the first violinists to make recordings, beginning in 1902 with Gramophone and Typewriter
One of the eminent violin virtuosi of the early 20th century, Kubelik's technique was sometimes referred to as a product of Ševčík's rigorous training methods.
He was also a composer, writing six concertos as well as cadenzas for the Brahms and Beethoven violin concertos over the course of his lifetime.
Kubelik is the father of famed conductor Rafael Kubelik.
