ON THIS DAY | Today is VC Young Artist Johan Dalene’s 21st Birthday!

The Swedish violinist is a former major prize winner at the Menuhin, Kocian, Cooper, and Nielsen International Violin Competitions

Swedish violinist and VC Young Artist Johan Dalene was born on this day in 2000.

A student of Janine Jansen and Per Enoksson at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Dalene is a former major prize winner at the Menuhin, Kocian, Cooper, and Nielsen International Violin Competitions.

Dalene's recent debuts include performances with all the major Scandinavian orchestras, as well as the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. He also served as the Artist-in-Residence of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in its 2020-21 season.

Johan currently performs on a 1736 Stradivarius violin on loan from the Anders Sveaas' Charitable Foundation.

In March 2021, Dalene released his newest album, "Nordic Rhapsody."
