Foyle previously won the Netherlands Concerto Competition playing Szymanowski’s Violin Concerto No.1 and subsequently received an invitation to perform a solo recital in the Concertgebouw. Since then, he has performed regularly in some of the UK's most prestigious halls and has recorded a disc of music by Debussy, Janacek, and Respighi.
He has appeared as the Guest Concertmaster for the BBC Philharmonic and the Hallé Orchestra — and also performs regularly with his piano trio, Trio Balthasar, alongside pianist Iain Burnside and cellist Tim Hugh.
"Delighted to share the news that from Wintersemester 2021/22 I am taking up a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln," wrote Foyle on social media. "Alongside continuing to work with my wonderful students at the Royal Academy of Music, I am thrilled to accept this position in the heart of Europe and am already enjoying meeting the exceptional students and colleagues of this renowned institution."
