A student of Adolf Bak, Simon Pullman and Carl Flesch, Mr Galimir was a former Concertmaster of the NBC Symphony and held teaching positions on faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music, The Juilliard School and Mannes College of Music

Austrian-born American violinist and pedagogue Felix Galimir was born on this day in 1910.

Dying in 1999, his famed students included Jennifer Koh, Leila Josefowicz and Ani Kavafian.
