VC Artist Richard Lin Appointed to Taipei University Teaching Faculty
VC Artist Richard Lin will join the faculty of the National Taipei University of Education, in Taipei, Taiwan
A graduate of The Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Lewis Kaplan and Aaron Rosand, Richard is a former major prize winner at the Wieniawski, Shanghai, Michael Hill, Singapore, Hannover, and Sendai International Violin Competitions. He was also awarded first prize at the 10th Quadrennial International Violin Competition of Indianapolis.
"I believe music education is really important, and I've always hoped to share my experience and knowledge with young musicians," said Richard.
"The Covid-19 pandemic made my dream come true, just 20 years earlier than my original plan. The Principal and the Dean of the NTUE are very open-minded — they are supportive of me keeping my solo career abroad while teaching at the school.
"After the pandemic is over, I will continue my concertizing life. I am really excited to begin my new journey as a professor, and I hope to bring different perspectives into the already flourishing music environment in Taiwan."
