25-year-old Taiwanese violin virtuoso Yu-Chien Benny Tseng has, in recent years, built an international reputation as one of today’s most exciting and gifted young concert soloists

25-year-old Taiwanese violin virtuoso Yu-Chien Benny Tseng has, in recent years, built an international reputation as one of today’s most exciting and gifted young concert soloists.

A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Aaron Rosand and Ida Kavafian, Benny is a former top prize winner at the Sarasate, Singapore, Isang Yun and Tchaikovsky International Violin Competitions.

His recent orchestral engagements include performances with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Belgium, Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Taiwan Philharmonic, China Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.

Benny currently plays on the 'ex Viotti-Marie Hall' 1709 Stradivarius violin – on generous loan from the Chi-Mei Culture Foundation, in Taiwan.
