She has won numerous awards including the Grand Prix du Disque, Edison Klassiek Award, Deutsche Schallplattenpreis, Diapason d’Or, and the Gramophone Award

Norwegian violin virtuoso Vilde Frang was born on this day 35 years ago.

A graduate of the Barratt Due Institute of Music, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, and the Kronberg Academy, Frang is recognized as one of the world’s eminent young international soloists.

Her recent debuts include solo engagements with the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, and NHK Symphony.

In August 2021, Frang was granted use of the 1734 "ex-Rode" Guarneri del Gesù instrument — on generous loan of J & A Beare and the Stretton Society.
