Winners Announced at Only Stage International Conducting Competition
Romanian conductor Vlad Vizireanu has won first prize at the inaugural online competition
Launched in January this year, this event is the first edition of the Only Stage International Conducting Competition. Held exclusively online, it welcomes musicians of all ages and nationalities.
Second prize went to Yu-Kuang Jin (China), while third prize went to Hermes Helfricht (Germany).
This year's special prize winners are Alejandra Urrutia (Chile) and Anton Torbeev (Russia). The Special prize winners will receive six months of professional consulting for their musical careers.
The first, second, and third prize winners will receive 2,000, 1,500, and 1,000 euros respectively, along with performance opportunities in concert seasons with major orchestras and private workshops.
The jury comprised Andrea Amarante, John Axelrod, Oleg Caetani, Zvonimir Hacko, Ruben Jais, György Lendvai, Piero Romano, and Michael Rosewell.
As a collaboration between Only Stage Management Company and Classics Management Budapest, with the support of the Arts Council England, the Spring competition was open to musicians of any nationality and there are no age limits.
