Prizes Awarded at Norway's Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition

The Mithras Trio from Moldova/United Kingdom has been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition

The Mithras Trio from Moldova/United Kingdom has today been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition – in Trondheim, Norway. 

Graduates of London's Guildhall School of Music, the Mithras Trio are former prize winners at the Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition, Cavatina Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition and the St. James Chamber Music Competition.

They will receive €15,000 – plus a number of festival engagements.

2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to Trio Hèlios from France - and the Trio Opal from Japan/Germany/Taiwan.

The 2019 jury comprised: Lambert Orkis (Chair), Sharon Bezaly, Thomas Hoppe, François Kieffer, Sølve Sigerland, Tanja Tetzlaff and Marianne Thorsen.
