Eva Rabchevska's Prizewinning Performance at Stuttgart International Violin Competition
Held in Stuttgart, Germany, from February 19 to 26, this year's competition will be streamed LIVE on The Violin Channel
Organized by the Guadagnini Foundation and the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, the Stuttgart International Violin Competition is open to international violinists 28 years of age and younger.
Out of 229 applications, 24 participants were selected to take part in the Stuttgart International Violin Competition 2024. Tune in from February 19 to 26, to watch the competition live on The Violin Channel.
Here, violinist Eva Rabchevska performs Clara Schuman's Romance Op. 22, at the 2021 competition, where she was awarded First Prize.
A graduate of the Bratislava State Conservatory, in Slovakia, and current student of Zakhar Bron at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, in Madrid, the Ukrainian violinist is a former major prize winner at the Carl Flesch and Karol Lipinski International Violin Competitions. Eva was also one of twelve finalists at the prestigious 2019 Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition.
The 2024 competition's prize money is totaling 60,000 Euros. The first prize winner will benefit from several important performance engagements, the loan of a 1746 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin, and artist management for the three subsequent years.
The jury will comprise Ingolf Turban (President), Shmuel Ashkenasi, Ulf Wallin, Hagai Shaham, Suyoen Kim, Rudolf Koelman, Dr. Harald Eggebrecht, Josef Rissin, and Stefan Fehlandt.
The first two rounds take place with a piano accompaniment, while the final will be accompanied partially by the Lotus Quartett and by the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ariel Zuckermann.
