FLASHBACK FRIDAY | VC Young Artist Nancy Zhou Performs at the Shanghai International Isaac Stern Competition in 2018
The semi-final round of this year's competition is currently taking place virtually — streamed here on The Violin Channel
Zhou was the 2018 first prize winner at the Shanghai International Isaac Stern Competition.
A graduate of Harvard University and former student of Miriam Fried at the New England Conservatory, Zhou is a laureate of the Isangyun, Sibelius, and Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competitions.
She performs Qigang Chen's "La joie de la souffrance" and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Major below:
Usually held biannually in Shanghai, this year's edition of the competition was originally scheduled for 2020, but due to the pandemic, has been re-envisioned into a new hybrid online and live format hosted over 2021 and 2022.
