18-year-old Armenian violinist Diana Adamyan performing Israeli composer Yair Klartag's newly-premiered work: Half Tiger, Half Poet for solo violin.
The 4-minute solo work was commissioned for the senior division semi-final round of the 2018 Menuhin Competition.
"Yehudi Menuhin once said "the violinist is that peculiarly human phenomenon distilled to a rare potency - half tiger, half poet" ... and it was this acclamation that was my initial inspiration for this work ..." Yair has said.
"The expressive duality gradually exposes the hidden underlying currents ... behind the opening poetic lines," the 32 year old 2018 Geneva International Composition Competition prize winner has said.
