The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra has this week announced British conductor and pianist Richard Egarr as its newest Artistic Partner – effective from September 2019.
He currently serves as Music Director of the Academy of Ancient Music - and has served as Guest Conductor with the Hague Residentie Orkest, Philadelphia Orchestra, London Symphony and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
Instead of having a Music Director, the Minnesota-based ensemble engages visiting artistic partners to perform with the orchestra for several weeks each year.
The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's 2019 artistic partners include violinists Pekka Kuusisto and Patricia Kopatchinskaja, pianist Jeremy Denk, clarinetist Martin Fröst and baroque specialist Jonathan Cohen.
