VC YOUNG ARTIST | Richard Lin, 22 - 2013 Sendai International Violin Competition 1st Prize Winner

22 year old Taiwanese-American violin virtuoso Richard Lin is quickly building an international reputation as one of the new generation's most promising and gifted young concert soloists.

A former prize winner at the Michael Hill and NTDTV International Violin Competitions, Richard was recently awarded 1st Prize at the prestigious 2013 Sendai International Violin Competition, in Japan.

A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with respected pedagogue Aaron Rosand, Richard is currently completing graduate studies at The Juilliard School - with Professor Lewis Kaplan.

His recent debuts include performances with the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Oklahoma City Philharmonic - and the Taipei Symphony Orchestra

Richard currently performs on the 1733 "Lafont" Guarneri del gesu – on generous loan from the Chi-Mei Cultural Foundation
